How SureSmile® Works
Your path to a straighter smile begins with a complete dental examination and consultation with one of our Middle Georgia SureSmile® dentists. During this visit, your dentist will examine your teeth and review current dental x-rays to evaluate your orthodontic needs.
After talking with you about your goals for your smile, your dentist will take photos and scans of your teeth and import them into the SureSmile® treatment planning software to plot your tooth movement. This information is sent to the SureSmile® laboratory along with the dentist's treatment notes to plan your case.
Your dentist will show you the anticipated results with SureSmile® using the patented imaging software so you can see the planned step-by-step progress towards your straighter smile. When you approve the plan, we will order your SureSmile® aligners.
Your teeth movement begins as soon as you begin wearing your first clear SureSmile® aligner tray. We recommend wearing your aligners for 20-22 hours per day to optimize your treatment time. Every 2-3 weeks, you will come to see us for the next tray in your series and we will monitor your progress.
Most SureSmile® orthodontic cases can be completed in 12-18 months; your dentist may recommend that you wear an orthodontic retainer after treatment to keep your teeth from shifting.
Orthodontics for Children & Teens
Our dentists refer children and teens with developmental orthodontic needs to an orthodontic specialist for evaluation and treatment. We will work with your child's orthodontist to manage their preventive care and any necessary restorative services during orthodontic treatment.
