we continue to maintain the highest health and safety standards at our dental practice

Patient Safety

At Middle Georgia Family Dentistry, the safety of our Patients and Team is our highest priority.

Our infection control procedures exceed the standards of the American Dental Association, Centers for Disease Control (CDC), OSHA and the Georgia Department of Public Health.

A few of the measures we have in place include:

  • Autoclave (steam heat under pressure) sterilization of dental instruments; equipment is regularly tested and monitored.
  • Use of disposable products for patient care items that cannot be heat sterilized.
  • Placement of disposable barrier covers on dental equipment; these are changed after each use.
  • Use of surface disinfectant on contact surfaces in clinical and administrative areas.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn by team members during clinical patient care.
  • Hand sanitizer and tissues readily available for patient use.
  • Strict hand washing protocols for the clinical team before and after each patient is seen.

Our Middle Georgia dentists and team participate in ongoing training to stay current on new developments and research in infection control and safety guidelines for dental practices.

Doing Our Part to Reduce the Spread of COVID-19 and the Flu in Our Community

In addition to our universal precautions for infection control, we also request that our patients assist us in preventing exposure to COVID-19 and the flu while in our practice:

  • We may ask you how you are feeling when we confirm your appointment and again when you arrive. If you have respiratory symptoms, body chills or a fever, we will ask that you reschedule your appointment.
  • We request that individuals not being seen for treatment refrain from coming into the dental office if possible. If you are a caregiver or parent, just let us know.
  • Our office has hand sanitizer and tissue stations in several areas, please use these and dispose of used tissues in waste receptacles. If you have to cough, please cover your mouth with a tissue.
  • We have masks available for patients that can wear them.

Together we can help reduce the transmission of COVID-19 and the flu to others. If you have questions about symptoms or our office protocols, please feel free to Contact Us.
